Railroad Playhouse Programs and Projects

The Railroad Playhouse Playmaking Project fulfills the Railroad Playhouse’s vision to include all local students in the theater and to serve as an option for schools that do not have a regular theater teacher on staff.

The  Professional Acting Workshop for Young People is designed for young actors who have had some experience or who are just beginning.  The workshop will include improvisation, movement and vocal training, and scripted scene study.  Students will concentrate on character and emotional development, learning to define specific emotional elements and how to apply them to the character in the script.  They will be challenged to use their own experiences and imaginations to enhance the creative process.

A week-long musical theatre program, led by professional actors, writers, and directors! The annual summer Glee Musical Theater Intensive is modeled after a traditional Broadway rehearsal week your child will learn singing and dancing through the use of popular songs taught by our professional Musical Director and Choreographer. They’ll learn acting and writing and be guided through the collaborative writing of their very own brand new play.
