The romance of wine and the splendor of nature come together in a very special way at Clinton Vineyards regarded as “the jewel of Hudson Valley agriculture.” A portfolio of premium Estate Bottled wines and the intimate beauty of the setting at Clinton Vineyards has attracted the attention of wine lovers, writers and visitors from far and wide. Clinton Vineyards is the ideal setting for weddings, private parties and corporate events.

Clinton Vineyards enjoys renown far beyond the Mid-Hudson Valley. With pluck and passion, Clinton Vineyards has created a line of Estate-Bottled wines — its Seyval Blanc, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Rosé and Methodé Champenoise sparkling wines— that have earned awards nationally and internationally. Clinton Vineyards created a line of dessert wines including Romance, a late-harvest Seyval Blanc; and Cassis, a black currant wine which is the only domestic Cassis to win gold medals in international competitions.

Clinton Vineyards was established in 1976 by Ben Feder, a Bronx-born book designer and artist who fell in love with New York State’s Mid-Hudson Valley. Inspired by the beautiful wineries and vineyards of the French countryside, where he had spent time as a plein air painter under the GI Bill after World War II, Feder recreated this sublime experience in Dutchess County. He modeled the 100-acre Clinton Vineyards in the tradition of European vineyard estates, and chose to specialize in producing white and sparkling wines, the latter made in the classic French méthode champenoise. The first release, the 1977 Seyval Blanc, garnered strong praise from The New York Times, resulting in an enthusiastic run on all cases.
