Through Carrie’s struggles, readers see the lasting impact of keeping secrets and are drawn into the historical setting of Sleepy Hollow, New York. From the legend of The Bronze Lady to intimate details about this small town on the Hudson River, the location plays a significant role in the events of the novel.
