Meet the Craftsman Behind Sunrise Custom Woodworking
Tom Andreas brings an artist’s eye and a craftsman’s hands to his woodworking projects. He creates everything from custom cabinetry and architectural trim to delicate wooden pieces that fit in the palm of your hand.
He also draws inspiration from the Hudson Valley’s natural landscape. For many of his smaller creations, Tom collects wood from fallen trees, pruned branches, and even old apple orchards. He then uses a woodturning lathe to reveal the colors, textures, and patterns hidden within.
This thoughtful approach gives each piece a story. Rather than hiding the wood’s natural character, Tom celebrates it. His workshop in Montgomery combines traditional woodworking techniques with modern design tools, allowing him to create both functional furnishings and distinctive artistic pieces.
