Westchester Roots: Día de la Cultura Ecuatoriana (Day of Ecuadorian Culture) is a lively, no-cost outdoor festival held each August to honor Ecuador’s rich traditions, music, and heritage. Co-hosted by ArtsWestchester and the Village of Sleepy Hollow, the event connects the community with the ancestral roots of Westchester County’s diverse immigrant groups.
It features live performances of traditional Ecuadorian folk music and energetic dance routines. Family-oriented activities include displays of traditional costumes and the Kichwa language. Vendors offer authentic Ecuadorian cuisine, crafts, and handmade products. Visitors usually bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to enjoy the festivities on the park grounds.
