Discover Yonkers’ historic downtown, featuring the daylighted Saw Mill River, Yonkers Train Station, Recreation Pier, the Enslaved African Rain Garden, and more. Explore Yonkers’ history from its Indigenous roots through the 18th and 19th centuries to the present. Curious about how and why Yonkers grew, or what the downtown looked like in the past? This tour is perfect for you! The walk is about 1 mile, mostly flat, and starts and ends at Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site (29 Warburton Ave., Yonkers, NY). It lasts about 90 minutes. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes, and bring sunscreen or a hat. The tour begins promptly at 10:30 am.
