Bring the family and step into an 18th-century holiday journey at the Austerlitz Historical Society’s 6th Annual Holiday House on Saturday and Sunday, November 7th and 8th, from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Admission is free, and Old Austerlitz is located at 11550 NY Route 22, Austerlitz, NY.
You will be captivated by the festivities, aromas, and décor as you meander through each beautifully decorated room in the 1794 Morey-Devereaux House, named for its five-generation owners.
Free coffee and cider will be offered, along with homemade soups, sandwiches, cookies, cakes, and pies for sale. You can also bring home a hint of holiday history, choosing from carefully selected, one-of-a-kind gifts, stocking stuffers, table décor and potted bulbs.
The Shop, which resides in the 1775 historical Harvey House, will be open and filled with holiday delights, antiques, art, and locally crafted products.
You and the kids can enjoy a local Blacksmith working in the 1850s Robert Engel Blacksmith Shop, hay rides throughout the property, a kids’ craft table, music from the Chatham High School Chamber Ensembles, and more. (You may even run into St. Nicholas!)
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to delve into the holiday spirit of yesterday and today.
