City of Poughkeepsie Festival of Lights
The Festival of Lights in Poughkeepsie features a spectacular parade with marching bands, giant puppets, and Santa Claus arriving in a fire engine. The festivities culminate at 7:15 PM with a dazzling winter fireworks display along the Poughkeepsie waterfront.
The event also includes the festive lighting of the holiday tree at John Flowers Circle, an aerial fireworks display over the Hudson River, and live performances by local school groups, including students from Poughkeepsie High School and Middle School. Families can enjoy Santa’s special fire truck arrival and complimentary refreshments, including hot cider, hot chocolate, popcorn, and snacks.
