The Spirit of Beacon Day is an exciting annual celebration that brightens Beacon, New York, on the last Sunday of September! Founded in 1977, this lively festival was created by passionate local citizens to foster community harmony and unite the city’s diverse population through engaging conversations, entertainment, and shared joy. Organized entirely by a dedicated volunteer committee and powered mainly by local donations, the event brings energy and togetherness to the community.

Each year, thousands of cheerful attendees fill the mile-long stretch of Main Street, transforming it into a vibrant pedestrian festival. Here’s the schedule for the day:

• 10am Streets blocked off in Spirit of Beacon Table Perimeter.
• 11am Spirit of Beacon Day Opens! Vendor Tables Open.
• 11:30am Volunteers of the Year Ceremony
• 12pm Parade lineup (those in the parade go to Rte. 52 (Yankee Clipper Diner).
• 1-2pm Parade starts!
• 5pm Spirit of Beacon Day ends.
