Yonkers Arts Weekend is filled with exciting new programs, including a Westchester Community College student-designed fashion show, workshops, exhibitions, and more. Arts and cultural organizations across Yonkers offer special programs, classes, workshops, and exhibits.

10:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Free Museum Admission
Museum admission is FREE all weekend! Explore our interactive Our Whole History exhibits on your own, or take a guided tour at 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:00 PM. Pre-registration is recommended but not required for guided tours. Call 914-965-4027 or email philipsemanorhall@parks.ny.gov to sign up. Explore the special temporary exhibit “A Black History of Colonial New York.”

10:30 AM – Yonkers Waterfront Walking Tour: History, Nature, Art, Architecture (Free!)
Have you ever wondered about the history of early Yonkers? What industries were along the waterfront? How did Yonkers develop as a city? Join us for this 90-minute, 1-mile loop starting at Philipse Manor Hall and heading down Van der Donck Park, through the Yonkers Train Station, out to the waterfront, down to the Enslaved Africans Rain Garden, and back up. 1:00 PM – Bookbinding Workshop (Free!)
Have you ever wondered how books are made? Sick of buying journals and notebooks? Try making your own in this special beginner’s class! All ages are welcome to select their pages, decorate their cover, and sew together their booklet. All materials are provided free of charge. Pre-registration is recommended. 2:00 PM – Calligraphy Class (Free!)
Want to improve your handwriting? Wish you could write like they did in the 18th century? Never learned cursive? Now you can! Yonkers calligraphy artist Nancy Favorito teaches the basics of calligraphy in this fun and engaging class. Please practice your script and then create a custom nameplate to take home. 3:00 PM – Architecture House Tour (Free!)
Philipse Manor Hall is one of the oldest houses in New York State, with the oldest part of the house dating back to the 1680s. Join architectural historian Keith Doherty as you learn about the various architectural techniques used to build the house, inside and out, and explore Philipse Manor Hall’s role in helping develop Georgian architecture’s unique New York style.
