The Birdhouse
Off-Grid Tiny House Upstate New York. The Birdhouse features a 6 ft skylight above the bedroom, an ode to the awe-inspiring skies of the Meeker Hollow, one of the best spots for stargazing in NY state, and an 11ft-tall window wall in the living space, framing the sprawling, lush landscape. Right outside there’s a shade structure that we built out of branches from the nearby forest and a patio with private fire pit made of flat rocks from the old stone wall on the property. Guests have access to the outdoor shower and private composting toilet. The cabin is off the grid, we provide solar lights and battery-powered lanterns to try and keep the light pollution in the stargazing field at a minimum.
