The Arnold House is a charming country retreat that sprawls across 80 acres of land, boasting custom trails and is nestled within the serene forest of Shandelee Mountain. A stay at The Arnold is more than just a typical hotel experience; it’s akin to visiting old friends. The property features sixteen guest rooms spread across four distinct buildings – The Main Building, The Garden House, Shandelee Post, and Bobbie’s Farmhouse. Additionally, The Tavern, newly renovated Dining Room, lush gardens, storied Pole Barn, and Greenhouse make The Arnold an ideal setting for overnight getaways and grand celebrations.
With a history of over a century, The Arnold House has been a cherished retreat for the local community and city dwellers. Following a renovation in Spring 2014, the building seamlessly encapsulates the various eras it has witnessed. From its origins in the rooming house era of the 1920s to the vibrant Catskill Resort era of the ‘50s and ‘60s, The Arnold pays homage to its historical significance while offering guests a blend of clean, contemporary sensibilities.
Weddings At The Arnold House
The Arnold House offers a unique and personalized wedding experience beyond just the wedding day. Couples can look forward to a wedding weekend filled with comfort, personalization, and high-quality surprises for their guests. The festivities kick off on Friday night with a fun get-together, such as a casual cocktail party, a backyard BBQ, or a family-style dinner and bowling party at their sister property, The North Branch Inn. The main event takes place on Saturday, and the Chef will work with the couple to craft the perfect menu to suit their tastes and preferences.
Rooms at The Arnold House
The sixteen guest rooms are situated across four buildings on our property: The Main Building, The Garden House, Shandelee Post, and Bobbie’s Farmhouse. The rooms are designed to be warm and inviting. All feature either natural cork or original wood floors, antique furniture and vintage fixtures. Cozy down duvet bedding, Sferra towels and bathrobes and an uncluttered design makes these rooms an easy place to wind down.
In The Arnold House Main Building there are 9 rooms on the second floor with either twin, queen or king beds. In the Garden House, three rooms are available: a large split-level suite, which is perfect for a family with children, and two Studios with king beds. The Shandelee Post Building is located across the street from The Arnold House Main Building and features the Shandelee Post Loft, Shandelee Post Studio, and Shandelee Post Suite. Bobbie’s Farmhouse is a 3 bedroom, three-bathroom home across from the Main Inn.
All rooms include complimentary breakfast, daily snack bar, full service Tavern & Bar, high-speed free WiFi, multiple guest common areas and wood stoves, Barn & Greenhouse and gardens, lots of outdoor seating, daily cookie service, private hiking trails, daily happenings and more.
