The Bedford Hills Halloween Walk is a sweet, not-too-scary celebration created especially for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. Hosted by the Bedford Hills Free Library, this annual event lets young children dress up in costume, listen to Halloween stories, and go trick-or-treating together in downtown Bedford Hills.

The 2026 Halloween Walk is on Tuesday, October 27, from 4:00–5:00 PM. Families gather at the Bedford Hills Free Library, 26 Main Street, Bedford Hills, NY 10507, and children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. The event starts with seasonal stories and treats before everyone heads out together for a community Halloween walk.

The afternoon begins with not-so-scary Halloween stories, making the celebration especially suitable for younger children who may not be ready for a spooky Halloween experience. After storytime, families walk together through downtown Bedford Hills, stopping at participating local businesses to trick-or-treat.

The Halloween Walk has become an annual Bedford Hills tradition, bringing together early literacy, costumes, and neighborhood trick-or-treating in a relaxed setting. It’s especially well-suited to families with babies and young children who want to celebrate Halloween before dark in a small-community atmosphere rather than at a large evening parade.
