The Hudson Whaler Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Hudson, conveniently near to popular shops, galleries and restaurants, it offers travelers easy access to four season outdoor experiences.
Restored in early 2021, the hotel preserves the integrity of the historic building it resides in while introducing contemporary touches that speak to the desires of today’s traveler. The hotel reflects the ethos of Hudson with a commitment to showcasing original details, as well as local artists and materials.
Upon entering the Hudson Whaler Hotel lobby, visitors will note the resemblance to the living room of a ship captain. You are greeted with a display of ornate woodwork, including an original handcrafted, three-level staircase and an elegant custom fireplace.
A detailed hand painted mural of the Hudson River from Manhattan to Hudson adorns the lobby walls, perfectly juxtaposed against additional wall carpentry. Overhead, vintage Italian crystal chandeliers sourced from one of Warren Street’s noteworthy antique shops, compliment other decorative pieces found locally.
Intended to evoke the interior of a ship, the hotel’s hallways are painted in a jewel box style with dark blue as if walking through a boat. Upon opening the door to one of the property’s 16 suites, guests are welcomed to a bright space dressed in soothing light-nautical tones of blues and whites.
Rooms
Hudson Whaler Hotel offers 16 suites across three floors with the intention of creating a cozy respite. Suites feature a fireplace and offer either king or queen beds with large bathrooms, many of which include bathtubs or deep soaking tubs. Suites have large windows that allow the natural light to filter in are donned in custom fabrics to compliment the chic custom carpeting below.

An array of in-room amenities includes a thoughtfully curated refrigerator stocked with locally sourced beverages and snacks for sale, luxury soap/shampoo/conditioner, plenty of soft towels, luxurious bedding, iron/board, SmartTV with DirecTV, in room safe and Keurig coffee machine.
Guests will find a complimentary handmade chocolate whale upon check-in by local chocolatier Vasilow’s Confectionery. The on site gym, wifi, and parking are complimentary.
