Friends of Historic Kingston (FHK), established in 1965, is a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Kingston, New York’s history and landmarks. It manages several key sites, including the Fred J. Johnston House, the Friends of Historic Kingston Gallery, the Louw Bogardus Ruin at Frog Alley, the Sharp Burying Ground, and the Post Office Memorial at Montrose Cemetery.
FHK runs programs and exhibits from May to October, allowing residents and visitors in the Hudson Valley to explore Kingston’s unique architectural, historical, and cultural heritage. These initiatives foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Kingston’s history and enhance the region’s cultural landscape.
