St. Augustine School educates the whole child, focusing on each student’s mental, physical, spiritual, and intellectual well-being. Religion is an integral part of the school day and is incorporated into all activities students participate in. Students attend Mass weekly with their class and participate as readers, gift bearers, and altar servers.
St. Augustine School prepares students to face life’s challenges. Chromebooks are used in the classroom along with the i-Ready diagnostic and instructional program. Students’ strengths and weaknesses are evaluated during the diagnostic phase and then addressed through remediation and/or acceleration during the instructional phase. Instruction is personalized to meet each child’s needs, helping teachers differentiate learning and support each student in achieving success.
The curriculum aligns with Common Core and New York State Standards. Students in grades K–2 take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) every spring, while students in grades 3-8 take the New York State Assessments in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Spanish is taught in grades 6-8, and an accelerated mathematics program is also available.
