The Highlands Foundry is a handcrafted apparel and home décor business based in the Hudson Valley, New York. The studio is an old Arts and Crafts Bungalow where I live and work with my husband, a glass blower and lighting designer. After many years working in the fashion industry in New York, I decided to step away and build something of my own based on my love of antique textiles, vintage clothing, love of heritage and the idea that designing products utilizing these elements, helps their story to continue.

We launched in February 2016 with a collection of one of a kind tote bags and pillows made from salvaged textiles. Everything we make is small batch or one of a kind, starting with the textile, which really dictates to me the design, shape or style I want to make. Working in the industry for iconic brands such as Ralph Lauren, enabled me to develop an eye and appreciation for heritage, authenticity and things that have a rugged natural beauty to them.

Our Homewares collection was co-created with my husband, who makes beautiful handblown bell jars and vessels that we wrap with leather. His love and appreciation of fine exotic hard woods shows in the collection of special charcuterie boards we offer.

The Highlands Foundry Handcrafted Goods:

Our apparel collection is made using salvaged global textiles. Each piece is cut and sewn one at a time inspired by the vintage textile it is created from, always utilizing original details and honoring the history and craftmanship that went into creating the cloth. Each piece is unique and one of a kind that we hope you wear, repair and pass on to preserve each heritage piece.

We created a Homewares collection of beautiful heritage textile pillows, hand blown glass vessels + bell jars and hand shaped wooden charcuterie boards to compliment your living space and lifestyle.

Our collection of bags are all hand made and created using slavaged textiles from all over the world comprising of African Indigo, Chinese Batik, Japanese Boro cloth, European Grain Sack, Hill Tribe cloth and American workwear. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.

We created a small collection of necklaces using vintage African trade beads + leather. Each piece is unique and one of a kind.
