The Trailside’s April Hike is a walk along the Menominee Trail to the William Brien AT shelter, skirting Silverlake.

We will meet at the Silvermine parking area, which is 1.5 miles west of Long Mountain Traffic Circle. The trail skirts Silvermine Lake across some rocky flat ground for about half a mile before climbing to the William Brien Appalachian Trail shelter. Elevation gain will only be around 390 ft, but it all occurs just before the turnaround point.
