Thomas Teich is an award-winning fine art landscape photographer and naturalist based in New York’s Hudson Valley. His work is characterized by the use of large- and ultra-large-format view cameras to capture highly detailed black-and-white images of the Catskill Mountains, the Adirondacks, and the Hudson River region.

Teich uses 4×5, 8×10, and custom-built ultra-large-format cameras (including a 22-pound custom unit) to record the intricate textures of the Northeastern landscape. Every silver gelatin print is handmade by the artist in his custom wet darkroom, using fiber-based paper and selenium toning for archival preservation.

His work balances “microcosmic and macrocosmic” views, aiming to convey the intimate grandeur of Eastern landscapes. In addition to landscapes, he produces abstract nature images, such as close-ups of ice formations.
