The Red Cottage is a peaceful retreat in your own private, well appointed cottage in historic Slingerlands, near Albany, New York, nestled among three acres of gardens and trees, which display the unique natural beauty of the four seasons.

The Red Cottage, along with the innkeeper’s home, is located on a 3-acre parcel in the historic village of Slingerlands, NY, which abuts Albany. The location provides easy access to all parts of the Capital District, including Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga, the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires and Southwestern Vermont. In addition to cultural attractions, outdoor activities abound. A rail trail for walking, running, biking, snowshoeing, XC skiing, is accessible from our backyard. The John Boyd Thatcher State Park is nearby on the Helderberg Escarpment. The Park – a 2155-acre wild park – offers 25 miles of trails, a Nature Center, and phenomenal views. The “forever wild” Adirondack and Catskill Mountains are close enough for a day trip if you are an early riser.

The Cottage, surrounded by old growth trees and perennial gardens, is approximately 400 sq. ft. The living space is furnished with period pieces and contemporary artisan crafts. An alcove sets off the queen-sized bed. WiFi, radio and Apple TV are available, but you’ll need to bring your own passwords to get your favorite channels. Amenities include:
