Smith Farms is a delightful small fruit farm located in the picturesque and historic mid-Hudson Valley. With over 10,000 new-generation trees and canes, the farm offers visitors the opportunity to pick their own fruit from June to late Fall. The farm utilizes “drip” irrigation to ensure that the fruit remains plump and juicy throughout the season, with the only exception being extreme weather conditions when the pond runs dry.

The fruit-picking season at Smith Farms kicks off in mid/late June with an abundance of sweet and sour cherries. This is followed by the eagerly anticipated arrival of the white flesh, sweet, and juicy Saturn (flat) peaches in early August. These peaches are popular among visitors due to their delicious flavor and unique shape.

As the season progresses, from the end of August to mid-October, visitors can enjoy the opportunity to pick from a diverse selection of 6 varieties of freestone peaches, nectarines, and seven varieties of apples. These apple varieties include Gala, Acey Mac, Honey Crisp, Fuji, Royal Cortland, Lady Apple, Macoun, Jonagold, and Golden Delicious, providing various flavors and textures for visitors to explore and enjoy.

Picking your own fruit is a great way to spend a family day out and bring home some great-tasting, farm-fresh, hand-picked fruit.
