Hudson River Expeditions maintains a fleet of rental kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards for touring on the Hudson River. Paddling is a great way to experience the natural beauty that is so abundant along the Hudson River.
Tours launch from Long Dock Park in Beacon, to the charming village of Cold Spring, and on to the Peekskill waterfront, create perfect launch locations for paddlers with a variety of skill levels.
There is an intangible magnetism to being on the water and connecting with the water, removing one’s self from the blacktop and concrete. There is serenity in paddling, feeling the push and pull of the current as you guide yourself along this historic waterway.
The Hudson Highlands region’s grandeur and glorious vistas delight the adventurer. Hudson River Expeditions wants you to experience this connection and tour the same routes that famed explorers journeyed; be surrounded by the region that fills our history and embrace the majestic Hudson River as the national and natural treasure that it is.
Hudson River Expeditions Tours:
COLD SPRING: KAYAK AND PADDLEBOARD TOURS
All tours include: Boat rental, paddle, water, and a PFD.
4-hour tours will not include refreshments beyond packaged granola bars and trail mix.
You are welcome to bring more in a small waterproof bag (that will fit in a kayak hatch).

ONE-WAY BEACON TO COLD SPRING
Launching in Long Dock Park in Beacon to explore the beautiful Hudson Highlands. We will land in Cold Spring where you can take the train back to the launch point.
TWILIGHT TOUR – Beacon 2 hours
An opportunity to get on the water and experience the area’s allure in a different light. You’ll start your paddle in the late day glow or sunset and the glimmer of the moon or an array of stars will illuminate your return from a calm and peaceful paddle.
BANNERMAN CASTLE LOOP – Beacon 3 hours
This tour is designed for those who want a fast-paced session on the water. Only those with previous paddling experience are encouraged to sign up. We will head south on the Hudson, around Pollepel Island for a peek at Bannerman Castle from the water, and back to Beacon.
