Village Green Bed and Breakfast is an 1847 Mansard-roofed Victorian overlooking the Woodstock Village Green. The Green is the town square and a gathering place for artists, musicians, world travelers, and just plain folk, also, the center of many planned events. A bit like the East Village in miniature, yet walk five minutes in any direction and you’re on a country lane.

Woodstock is a great walking town. If shopping is your thing, start your excursion just down stairs at Modern Mythology and Pondicherry. Then in a 300 foot circle around the Village Green find: Antiques, art, books, crafts, cigars, clothing, gifts, jewelry, hardware, tools, and real estate. Walk just a bit further to many more shops galleries, bars and restaurants including American, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Vegetarian, and just across the green, a deli.

If hiking is more to your liking, walk 30 minutes up Rock City Road and you’re at the beginning of marked trails leading throughout the Catskill mountain range. About half way up the mountain, you can rest up at Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery. Or for shorter hikes, walk ten minutes to Comeau Park and its meadows, streams, and trails.
