Take Me Home Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization entirely funded through donations and adoption fees. Donations enable the organization to rescue and enhance the lives of animals in need. As a completely foster-based rescue without a physical shelter or facility, all volunteers open their homes to care for the animals they rescue.
The mission of Take Me Home Pet Rescue is to save dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. These animals often end up in shelters due to abuse, neglect, homelessness, or being surrendered by their owners because they are no longer wanted. The rescue effort begins with foster families in North Carolina, who serve as the front line in saving and caring for animals pulled from shelters. After being transported to New York, local foster families continue caring for and rehabilitating these animals until they are ready to find their forever homes.

Take Me Home Pet Rescue Mission
It is the mission of this organization to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters where they face euthanasia within 72 hours. These animals end up in shelters due to abuse, neglect, being homeless, or being surrendered by their owners because they are no longer wanted.
The goal of this organization is to rescue these animals from shelters where they would be euthanized, and to help overcrowded shelters free up space.
The organization will then be responsible for providing medical care, which includes examinations by a veterinarian and addressing any health issues. The animals will also be vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered.
After their medical check-up, they are transported to foster homes, which are part of a network of volunteers who have applied and successfully met the organization’s qualification standards.
These volunteers are willing to donate their time and open their homes temporarily until the animals find their permanent homes. The ultimate goal of the organization is to facilitate the adoption of every fostered animal.
Animals will only be placed in their forever homes once potential adopters pass the application process, which includes checking veterinary references, personal references, and conducting a home visit.
