Stephanie Charlene Ceramics produces pottery that is simple, tranquil, and grounding, designed to soothe an overstimulated world. Customers value these timeless forms, often decorated solely by fire and soda ash. These pieces complement a variety of interiors, from a minimalist Japanese-inspired cottage to a rustic woodland cabin or a modern city apartment.
While color and design balance are important, it’s the tactile experience that keeps you coming back to a favorite mug. She concentrates on the comfort of her organic, sculptural handles and lugs across all her pottery. The Pot Belly mugs are designed to look fertile and feel generously full when held. Their ergonomic shape makes them easy to carry while keeping your drink hot or cold.
When crafting pitchers and teapots, extra care is taken to ensure they are comfortable to handle and pour smoothly. All Stephanie Charlene Ceramics are fired in a gas kiln with a high-fire soda process, which adds texture and flashes of orange and grey. During the final firing at about 1250°C, a mixture of soda ash and water is injected into the kiln, glazing the pots as described. They are safe for dishwasher and microwave use.
