The Inn at Twaalfskill is set back in a wooded residential area. The large shaded yard, breezy porch and peaceful garden terrace are favorite spots for relaxing in nice weather, while spacious common areas inside the inn are a cozy respite.
Accommodations combine traditional Victorian ambiance with all the modern touches you expect from a luxury bed and breakfast. Meticulous restoration has left original details intact and coordinated fabrics and period furnishings bring it all together.
The Inn at Twaalfskill is within walking distance of the hamlet of Highland and less than one mile from the magnificent Hudson River and the Walkway Over The Hudson. The area offers many opportunities for shopping, hiking, theater, and dining. Neighboring towns are known for their historic districts, award-winning restaurants, specialty shops, galleries, wineries and lighthouses. For your convenience there are bike loaners on the property.
The Inn takes its name from the Twaalfskill Creek, a brook that meanders in front of the spacious property. (The Dutch translation of Twaalfskill means 12 Stripe Bass Creek.) Rambling acreage features perennial gardens, century-old oak trees and a serene porch. On cool summer evenings with the windows open, you can sometimes hear the brook from inside the house.
