Furniture creations are inspired by the cliffs of the Shawangunk Ridge in the Hudson Valley of New York State. The EarthModern Furniture unique designs bring both a modern and organic aesthetic to one’s space. We create furniture pieces that give a notable life to the spaces they inhabit.
Mike and Christina Benevento are the husband and wife team behind EarthModern. They live and work at the base of the Shawangunk Cliffs in the Hudson Valley with their two children and two dogs. After building custom furniture for years, Mike became inspired by the cliffs and ridges he hikes, bikes, and climbs and he began focusing his work on using stone and rock as the focal pieces of his furniture designs. Each piece of wood and stone is hand selected by Mike, each grain pattern and shape and texture highlighted in the design and crafting of the furniture. Both Mike and Christina were drawn to designing and creating custom furniture pieces because of their passion for furniture design, and even more so, because of their desire to work with people to bring beauty, quality, and function to their spaces.
