The mission of Ashokan Music and Dance is to support and promote preservation and innovation in traditional music and dance. Our goal is to help keep these traditions vital and accessible in a changing world by providing a environment that fosters the free exchange of ideas among passionate musicians and dancers of all ages.

We produce music and dance-focused weekend and week-long educational camps, performance-oriented festivals and concerts, and social and traditional dances to live music.

Ashokan Music and Dance is located in Olivebridge, New York on 374-acres of Catskill forests, streams and farmland, the Ashokan Center is a special blend of geologic, natural and human history, and is the setting for all of our events. The mission of the Ashokan Center is to teach, inspire and build community through shared experiences in nature, history, and the arts.

Ashokan Music and Dance camps are a learning vacation where you’ll meet like-minded people, have a ton of fun and enjoy in depth, hands-on classes led by our supportive staff. The programs are designed to be richly rewarding for complete beginners, as well as experienced musicians and dancers. You can create your own schedule and attend any classes or workshops that fit your skill level, or that pique your interest.
