The Cake Box was originally opened in Woodstock, NY in the 1960’s and has enjoyed an enviable reputation for fine cakes, pastries and cookies, it was purchased in 1993 by Walter Swarthout, a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America.
By 2001, we had outgrown our original location on Rt. 28 and moved to our beautiful art deco building in historic Kingston, NY.
We have continued to evolve into a full service bakery and cafe, serving our popular cakes, cookies and pastries along with a simple sandwich, salad and soup menu.
The Cake Box Bakery offers a full selection of Danish and Puff Pastries items baked fresh daily. Coffee rings such as meltaways, walnut rings, fruit rings just to name a few, as well as a large selection of all your favorite individual pastries.
There is always a variety of 7″ cakes on hand for your last minute needs. Larger sizes or custom made cakes typically require 24-48 hour advance ordering. Wedding, Tiered and Fondant Cakes are available for your events and parties.
